Make Your Own Washi Tape Tutorial

Washi tape has spread like wild fire.  Seems like more and more companies are coming out with decorative tape.  How would you like  to make your own Washi tape?  You can choose whatever design and ink color you want!!  The only thing is that it's permanent, not removable like the true Washi tape....still, if you're using it on a card, it works.

What you need:

Plain white tissue paper

Double sided tape (I used the 1 1/2 inch Scor Tape)

Stamp of your choice

Ink of your choice

I used the a|s Sweetheart Background and Grapefruit Ink.

 Cut a strip of tape and adhere to a piece of tissue paper.

Flip the piece over and stamp.

Cut the piece out (hint: flip it over to the unstamped side to cut along the edges of the tape).

You can cut the "washi tape" to whatever size you want.  I kept mine at the 1 1/2 inch.

Peel off the backing and adhere to card.  Decorate as you wish.  Done!!!  Easy Peasy.

Being from Seattle, we get our share of rain.  How appropriate to have a rain mobile decoration!!  The rain drops are absolutely adorable using the heart die.

Nail Polish....not just for finger nails.

The only thing I used nail polish for, other than on my nails, was  to use clear nail polish to stop runs in my nylons.  Well, there's another use for nail polish!!  


Currently, A Muse Studio offers mini-brads in these colors:

Want to add more color to your projects?  Use nail polish!!  There are so many colors available now for nail polish.....red, green, blue, yellow, etc...in all different shades.....what color brad you end up with is totally up to YOU!! 

The picture of my finished brads is awful, but it still gives you an idea of what the brads look like.  


I used the Sugar Mini Brads.  The brad on the left is a glittered brad.  I used clear nail polish and dipped the brad into the a|s silver glitter.  


I colored the middle brad a dark red (again, sorry for the poor picture) and the brad to the right is a rust color.


I'll be shopping for more colors this weekend....making sure to take my color chart with me so that I can match up the polish to the a|s colors.
