Welcome to the Building Friendships Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Ginny's blog or you can go back and start at Heidi's blog. I was so excited when Heidi invited me to be among those hosting this fun blog hop. The ladies decided to get together and create some fun projects and then share them with all of you! Each of our projects are up as prizes for those participating in this hop. So come and hop along!! Here is what you need to do: 1. You need to leave a little love in the form of a comment on each of our blogs by 12 midnight EST, Wednesday, August 22nd. 2. You need to become a follower of each of our blogs. 3. You will need to collect all the letters and words along the way and put them into a little sentence and email the sentence to Heidi at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All correct entries will be gathered to win the prizes all of us are giving away on our blogs. Prizes will be posted on each of our blogs on Saturday, August 25th. The theme for our projects is Back To School. I don't have any kids of my own, but several of my friends do. I have wonderful memories of my childhood and being in school. Sometimes, I wish I could go back....LOL!!! I just remember life being simpler. ;) For my project (and your prize), I made this fun little pencil container.
It all started with a plain water bottle:
Wrapping the cardstock around the bottle was pretty easy. I used the following A Muse Studio cardstock for the pencil:
Buttercup Grapefruit Silver Shimmer Couture Wheat
The pencil top was also pretty easy to make, but it was difficult to secure because of the odd shape of the top. So, whoever wins my project....there's a "not-so-pretty" anchor inside the pencil top. ;) The pencil top is a half circle. After trying different sizes (I used lids to pots to draw the circle...LOL!!....Spellbinders wasn't big enough), I ended up using a 7 inch circle....again, cut in half. The lead was colored with Copic Special Black marker. Along with the pencil water bottle, I made some nugget treat wrappers using the A Muse Studio School Days set.
I'm filling the pencil with goodies for school, including the nugget treats. I'm not revealing what other goodies will be in the pencil.. it'll be a SURPRISE!!
Where each month, selected stamp sets will share the spotlight with a gorgeous color palette to create projects that showcase the versatility of paper crafting.

The new Chevron Cardstock makes a terrific background along with Washi Tape and Chevron Ribbon. Isn't the little bling on the bicycle from the Enjoy the Ride set clever?
Vacationland.....the name says it all!!
