Cupcake Birthday and DIY Candy Dots - Final March Consultant Challenge Card

Well, I had another sleepless night.  Instead of making a card though, I made some candy dots.

In February, I won blog candy that included some Recollections Enamel Dot Stickers.

I figured I could make them myself.  It was SO easy and a great way to use up the scraps.  I used a regular hand punch on Shimmer Cardstock to punch out a bunch of circles.  Then I dabbed on some Crystal Clear Glaze to each punched circle.  All it took was just a dot of Crystal Clear Glaze to make them look dimensional.

I let them dry overnight (yep, finally went to bed).  They turned out like this:

So pretty!!

Here's a birthday card I made using these candy dots.

I love the confetti look the dots gave to my card.  Here are some close up pictures:

I paperpieced the cupcake together and used foam tape to adhere to the base of the card.

I framed the sentiment using the Vintage Labels 2 die set.  (When you cut out the frame, there's an indentation along the border.  I hand-cut along the indentation.  I cut out another piece to create the layer).

Supplies used:  Hey Cupcake stamp set, Shimmer Cardstock (Bubblegum, Sugar, French Roast, Bermuda, Lime), Bubblegum Ink, Stazon Jet Black Ink, Vintage Labels 2 die set.

Have a great rest of the weekend.  It always amazes me how quickly the weekends go by.

Blessings,

A Couple More Cards for the Consultant Challenge.

Since I love things the Shimmer, Sparkle and Shine...I couldn't resist making a couple more cards.  I probably won't have time for the rest of the month to enjoy my crafting space. :(

For this card, I used Grapefruit Cardstock for my base and Sugar Cardstock for the layer. I used one of the chevrons from the Chevrons Stamp Set to lightly stamp onto the Sugar CS to create a template (no way could I adhere the sequins straight without the template...LOL!!).  The sequin colors I used are Lime, Silver and Pink.  After adhering the sequins (Crystal Clear Glaze is awesome for using on sequins), I stamped the "Hello" from the Say It With Style set using Grapefruit Ink.  I used one of the dies from the Word Windows Die Set to cut out the sentiment and then used foam tape to adhere to the card.  The picture really doesn't do it justice on how shiny and shimmery the sequins are.  One of my cats (Bella) goes crazy over the reflections off the sequins.  My crazy little girl loves to chase things that light up....flashlight, laser light, reflection off the back of a disc (DVD/CD) and now....sequin reflections. LOL!!! I really need to figure out how to use the video function on my phone.

For this card, I used the feathers from the Make A Wish Stamp Set with the matching die set (I had some pieces left over from using them on my recipe swap pages...post to come in a few days).  I used Winter Sky Ink to stamp the images.  Using a glue pen, I added some Diamond Glitter to the spine of each feather.  The sentiment is from the Making A Difference Stamp Set, which I stamped onto Sugar Shimmer Cardstock (yep, I smudged it...AFTER I adhered it to the card base...UGH!!).  Using the Vintage Labels 2 die set, I cut out the sentiment and a frame using Silver Shimmer Cardstock.  Of course, I had to include a few sequins...my favorite embellishment!!!  The card base is Ocean Shimmer Cardstock.

Well, that does it for me!

As I said earlier, I'll be posting pictures of the Final Consultant Recipe Swap later on this week...so be sure to check back.

Blessings,

Snowfall - Another A Muse Consultant Challenge Card

I had a hard time sleeping last night, so rather than toss and turn in bed....I got up and made another card for the Shimmer, Sparkle and Shine challenge.

For this card, I layered Sugar and Ocean cardstock.  I stamped the Aspen Background using Latte Ink.  I masked off an area of the background image to stamp the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Say It With Style set...stamped with Ocean Ink.  The Pearl Sequins look just like falling snow. So pretty....

Shining Stars - A Muse Studio Consultant Challenge.

Wow! I actually found some time to make a card!!  Tax time is normally a busy time at work, but this year seems to be worse...darn those K-1s!!! LOL!!

This month's theme for the Consultant Creative Challenge is Shimmer, Sparkle and Shine!

I love using glitter for my cards.  Here's the card I made for this month's challenge:

I started out with French Roast Shimmer Cardstock for the base.  Then, I used Grass and Bubblegum Shimmer Cardstock for the panels.  I die cut the panels using the smallest star from the Star Trio Die set.

I took pieces of scrap Sugar Shimmer Cardstock and applied Tombow Mono Multia Adhesive.  Sprinkled 2 scraps with Lime Glitter and 1 piece with Bubblegum Glitter.  I actually had to use good old Scotch Tape to adhere the glittered pieces to the backs of the die cut panels.  There was just too much glitter and the red tape wouldn't hold.  I used the red tape then to adhere the panels to the base of the card.

I used Ocean Cardstock to stamp the "thank you" sentiment from the Essential Sentiments set. I used one of the banner dies from the Cupcake Toppers Die Set to cut out the sentiment.  And finally, I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card.

Maybe I'll find more time to create another card before this month is over.

Have a great week, everyone!!

Blessings,
