Christmas Stocking Gift Card Holder

I can't believe that I'm already working on Christmas projects!!!  Where did the summer go??  Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love working on handmade cards, decorations, presents, treats.....

Here is a Christmas Stocking Gift Card Holder:

I actually cut out the stocking by hand.  I cut out two stockings on Candy Cane Stripe Cardstock and used Cherry Cardstock for the heel and toe.  I used the Uniball White Gel pen to create the stitches on the heal and toe.  For the cuff, I used the Cherry Cardstock with the Fine Twill Vanilla Ribbon and attached it to the stocking using a gold brad.

Now, I just have to make a few more before the holidays!  It never hurts to get started early.....

More Spotlight Projects

As I posted yesterday, the September Spotlight is now available.

Each month, selected stamp sets will share the spotlight with a gorgeous color palette to create projects that showcase the versatility of paper crafting. AND....during their time in the spotlight, they will be specially priced.
Here are some more projects using the stamps showcased in this month's Spotlight.

These candles are beautifully wrapped with a|s Sleepy Hollow and Slate Woodgrain cardstock.  (We suggest this as a decorative item only. Remember, paper is flammable.)

Aren't these witches hats adorable?!?!?!?  AND....delicious.  There's a Reese's Peanut Butter cup hidden in the hat!

Last felt project (for today).....Felt Flower Pick

I figured while I had the hot glue gun heated, I'd make another felt flower (plus, I was waiting for the camera battery to recharge...LOL!!)

In one of my earlier posts, I made a flower using double-colored ribbon (blue on one side and chocolate on the other side).  I figured I could create a double-colored piece of felt to create the flower.

I used the bubblegum and vanilla felt.  Using the a|s Super-Stick Double-Sided Tape, I adhered the 9 X 12 piece along one edge.  Then, I used my paper cutter to cut a strip (about 3/8 inch wide).  I repeated this 4 times to get 4 strips of felt (bubblegum on one side and vanilla on the other). Then, I cut 6 pieces that were about 2 1/2 inches long and 6 pieces that were about 2 inches long.  I used a hot glue gun to create the petals and adhere each petal onto a 1 inch piece of felt (very similar to the hair rubber band I made).  I used an a|s Bubblegum button for the center.

The sentiment is from the a|s Friends Fur-Ever set and stamped on grass cardstock to create the flag.

Until next time....

Blessings,

Felt Pinwheel hairpin

I just can't get enough of the new a|s felt!!!!  I just love how easy it is to work with and the colors are amazing.  I made this hairpin using the sky and vanilla felt.

I cut the blue felt using the Spellbinders Square Sm die and then I cut the vanilla felt using the Spellbinders Scalloped Square Sm die.  Both Spellbinders die sets are available in the A Muse Studio 2011 Catalog and Inspiration Guide.

I used the a|s Super-Stick Double-Sided Tape to adhere the vanilla piece to the sky piece (centered).  Then, I cut each corner to the center of the square and glued the corners down.  Add a button to the center (I used an a|s Bermuda button) and voila!!  I decided to use the pinwheel as a hairpin, but how cute would it be on a card!!!

JUST FOR FUN - Consultant Challenge, ASCC2-AUG2011

After a summer break, the JUST FOR FUN - Consultant Challenges are back!!!  I had to miss the last challenge because of my exam schedule.  I couldn't resist taking part in this one.  In the A Muse Studio Holiday Catalog, one of the new and exciting products is F-E-L-T.  It is absolutely delicious!!  They come in 10 different colors:  vanilla, french roast, cherry, fern, sage, slate, sky, bubblegum, shell, buttercup.

The challenge this month was to create an embellishment or project using the new felt.  Here's a video of Julie Ebersole's Fringed Felt Flower:

And here are the pictures of her fabulous project:

I made a felt flower hair rubber band (but what I noticed afterwards is that the band is actually big enough where you could wear it as a bracelet!!).

I used the bubblegum felt.  First, I hand cut 6 large petals and 6 smaller petals.  Then, I used a hot glue gun to "pinch" the base of each petal.  Once I had all of the petals pinched, I took a 1 inch circle piece of felt and glued the large petals in place.  Then, I took the small petals and glued them on top of the large petals.  The centerpiece is an a|s French Roast button.  Finally, I glued the flower to a hair rubber band.  I hope you liked these projects.
