A couple gift card holders

I finally found some time to be crafty.  I made two gift card holders.  I'm using these holders to submit for a swap between a|s consultants and the a|s November Consultant Challenge.

The first is a Snowball Gift Card Holder.

I started out making the pots out of A Muse Studio Onyx cardstock.  Cut a piece 3-1/2" x 9".  Score at 2" and 5-1/2".  Fold it at the 5-1/2" scored mark and then fold the 2" scored mark so that the white side shows (kind of a zig zag fold).

With the bottom part of the pot folded, cut the edges at an angle.  I just lined it up between the groove where the blade cuts and the half inch mark on the outer edge of the cutter (see pictures).

Don't cut the white flap.

Once you have the edges cut, place some double sided tape (I used our Super Stick Red Double Sided Tape) along the edges of the pot.

Put some more tape on the flap of the pot, but don't adhere it quite yet.

Here's a picture of the pot without the ribbon embellishment.

Before you adhere the flap to the pot, adhere the ribbon embellishment.  I used the Ocean Organdy ribbon.  I tied a knot, then cut it in half and used glue dots to put into place on the flap.  Then, I adhered the flap to the pot.

For the the gift card insert (the snowballs), I cut a 4" x 2-1/2" piece of Sugar cardstock.  I used the insert die to cut the slits on the insert.

Punch out 7 circles using a 1-3/8" circle punch.  I used Copic BG10 Cool Shadow to color the edges of the snowballs, but didn't think to do that until AFTER I adhered all of the snowballs.  If you want to add a little shadow to the snowballs, color it before you start adhering. :)

Start adhering to the top of the gift card insert.

Continue adding another layer of snow.

Note how I didn't cover up the slit for the gift card and also that the second layer of snow goes out further on the right and left of the insert.

I finished it off by hand writing the "Snowballs For Sale 10¢" using a Uni-Ball White Gel Pen and adding the "just for you" heart.   The sentiment is from Not A Creature Was Stirring stamp set.  The heart is from the Heart Trio Die Set (large one).

Here are the products I used:

My second gift card holder is a Gingerbread House!! It turned out so cute!!!

Stay tuned....I'll have the tutorial up for you later this week.

That's about all the energy I have for now.

Blessings,
